Brandy is passionate about creating equitable access to opportunity for young people, while equipping them with tools to lead lives of self-determination.
Before joining Project Wayfinder, Brandy was Program Manager at West Michigan Center for Arts + Technology (WMCAT), where she taught the Project Wayfinder Purpose curriculum to young adults exploring college and career pathways. She also worked within one of WMCAT’s social enterprises, Public Agency. There, she trained businesses, organizations, and institutions in equity-centered design (a process with roots in human-centered design) to help them reimagine their policies, processes, and programs to achieve more equitable outcomes. Prior to her time at WMCAT, Brandy served as Youth & Inclusion Specialist at food security organization Kids’ Food Basket, focusing on youth development and co-leading the organization’s equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives. She was also an adjunct instructor at Grand Valley State University (GVSU), teaching in the school of Public + Nonprofit Administration.
She has served on numerous boards and committees supporting programs that serve young people in under-resourced communities and schools.
Brandy earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications at GVSU and a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications at Eastern Michigan University.
