Brittney is a former classroom teacher with over a decade of experience in education, specializing in culturally responsive pedagogy, foundational skills, and literacy development. As both an educator and a researcher, Brittney excels at bridging theory and practice to make learning equitable, engaging, and impactful.
Starting her career in education as a classroom teacher, Brittney dedicated herself to developing creative and culturally relevant ways to reach her students, especially in reading and English language arts. Her passion for education began in her hometown of Miami, Florida, where she saw the transformative power of education in Title I schools.
Leaning on her expertise in classroom instruction, Brittney has spent the past several years designing curriculum for diverse districts across the US, including those in Texas, Illinois, Ohio, and New York. As a literacy advocate, Brittney has also presented at conferences and contributed to publications, extending her impact beyond the classroom.
Brittney holds a PhD in curriculum and instruction with a focus on culturally responsive teaching and a master’s in reading education from the University of South Florida. She is currently certified to teach in the state of Florida. Outside of work, Brittney enjoys amusement parks, crafting, and traveling.
