Erica began her career as a Teach for America corps member in Lynn, MA teaching middle school math. Following her stint as a math teacher, she served as the Director of Programs for a nonprofit dedicated to providing free tutoring services and social emotional learning programming for K-12 students in Cambridge, MA. Concurrently, she consulted and coached for a company supporting clients of all ages in the development of their executive function skills. Marrying these skillsets, she returned to the classroom as a health and wellness specialist in Boston Public Schools.
During her tenure at BPS, Erica held a number of leadership roles, including serving on the district's Social Emotional and Wellness Task Force, directing the Modern Classroom Professional Learning Community, and serving on her school's instructional leadership team. She was awarded the Comprehensive Health Education Award, and partnered extensively with the Office of Health and Wellness to improve and bolster district-wide programming for all students and teachers.
Erica graduated from Colby College with majors in Government (honors) and Education and obtained her M. Ed. in Curriculum and Teaching from Boston University. In her free time, she enjoys teaching yoga, cooking, and cheering for the Boston Celtics.
