Joseph is a user and quality advocate for improving polish and delight in educational technology.
After obtaining his secondary teaching credential at UC Irvine, Joseph taught United States history at a low-income high school, where he faced the joys of teaching curriculum and the challenges of classroom management. These experiences set a foundation of empathy and a passion for edtech that make him a vocal advocate for teachers and educators when engaging in quality practices in the software development life cycle.
Soon after leaving the classroom, Joseph worked toward a career in Quality Engineering at Illuminate Education and at GradeCam. Projects included integrations between edtech tools and services, such as Google Classroom and common Learning Management Systems such as Canvas and Schoology. Recently, he helped scale the performance of different assessment platforms to meet growing student demand amongst a pandemic learning environment. Now, Joseph serves the educators and students using Wayfinder, helping to build a quality product with a positive impact.
Joseph lives in California, where he enjoys outdoor photography, accessible by either backpacking, bike-packing, or car camping. When he's not wandering nature, he's cozying up at home, either playing video games or watching documentaries with his wife and dogs.
