Joyce is a proactive designer with a passion for modern visual design and problem-solving. As a Senior Product Designer at Wayfinder, she strives to create seamless and exciting digital experiences for users.
Joyce's journey into product design began during the pandemic when she transitioned from a sales role to study user experience design (UX) and graduated from Designlab's UX Academy. Since then, she has successfully led company-wide product releases for large finance and health companies such as USAA, UnitedHealthcare and Optum, as well as several small startups.
Prior to joining Wayfinder, Joyce gained valuable experience as a sales representative for a yearbook company. Her work with educators and her introduction to edtech sparked her interest in designing for school environments.
Joyce is committed to giving back to her community and mentors new designers from Designlab. When volunteering for a small-education startup, CampusDive, Joyce created an internship program to help new designers gain work experience.
Joyce earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising at The University of Texas at Austin and was an active member of the Filipino Students Association. Joyce's upbringing in Hawaii with her large Filipino family instilled a love for her culture. In her free time, she enjoys playing board games, cooking, and traveling with her family.
