Lindsey Smith

Lindsey Smith is a former school leader with a passion for driving change in education through social emotional learning (SEL). During her time in schools, Lindsey served as the director of special education, where she was dedicated to integrating SEL into the school day, helping students understand themselves, their purpose, and their passions.

As a lifelong learner, Lindsey recently transitioned into ed-tech, taking on a new challenge designing curriculum for apprenticeships. Despite testing new waters, her dedication to the K-12 space remains strong, focusing on transforming how students think and learn. Through her experience, Lindsey has seen the critical role SEL plays in supporting mental health and fostering a holistic educational experience.

Lindsey earned her undergraduate degree from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY, and her Ed.M. in Special Education (K-12) from Brooklyn College. Recently, she, her husband, and their three children moved from New York City to California. In her spare time, Lindsey and her family enjoy the beach, exploring new playgrounds, and discovering the wonders of their new state. She also has a passion for fashion and appreciates a really good cup of coffee.

"My purpose is to collaborate with educators to emphasize the importance of SEL and its transformative power in education. By helping students develop essential skills, attitudes, behaviors, and values, we can support their individuality and inspire their creativity to succeed well beyond the classroom."
