Matthew began his career as an AmeriCorps member working with an education nonprofit to provide academic and social emotional support to high school students in Los Angeles. In this role, he was able to see first hand the power of social emotional learning as a foundational element of holistic student support. After spending two years working directly with students, Matthew became a Program Manager, managing a team of AmeriCorps members and working with teachers and administrators on a schoolwide partnership.
From there, Matthew transitioned into a development role with another education nonprofit. In this capacity, Matthew managed the government grants for a network of charter schools across five states and gained experience managing budgets, applications, and compliance for federal grants including Title I-IV, IDEA, School Improvement Grants, and ESSER.
Matthew holds a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in Political Science and a Master of Science in Social Entrepreneurship from the Marshall School of Business at USC. In his free time Mathew enjoys traveling, playing music, and supporting his Boston sports teams.
