Phil Holcombe has spent his entire career at the intersection of design and learning.
In 2010, he founded Form & Faculty, an interdisciplinary design firm working exclusively with clients invested in learning. Under Phil’s direction, Form & Faculty produced a diverse and award-winning portfolio that includes curriculum for schools and non-profits, apps for ed-tech startups, websites for universities, and flexible learning environments for public schools. In 2012, Holcombe’s firm earned Certified B Corporation status, meeting the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability.
In addition to his work in industry, Phil had an influential career in academia as the Founding Program Director of Product Design at University of the Arts. The degree program he designed emphasizes interdisciplinary investigation, emerging technologies, and entrepreneurial mindsets. Phil has taught a range of courses including “Design Thinking for Educators”, “Design Process, Theory, and Communication”, and “Senior Thesis I & II”.
Further, Phil has played meaningful roles on various school boards and advisory boards in the education space. He holds a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design.
