Rob is a former educator with a drive to help implement solutions for real-life problems in education communities. He is a lifelong learner who is passionate about improving the education experience for all students, teachers, and any person yearning for instruction and growth.
Rob began his career as a middle school math and science teacher and Teach for America Corps member in Memphis, Tennessee. As a result of seeing the lack of opportunities, resources, and access to positive supportive environments after school, he helped start the non-profit Memphis Inner City Rugby, whose mission is to leverage the power of rugby to close the opportunity gap, create a supportive community, and drive upward mobility for students living in under-resourced communities in Memphis. With partnerships with companies such as Nike and Gatorade, and a short film featured in the Tribeca Film Festival, the nonprofit is still thriving today. His time in Memphis teaching and coaching illustrated some of the innate inequities in education and inspired Rob to continue to make equitable education a priority in his life.
From Memphis, Rob left for the San Francisco Bay Area and began working for an educational software company called Edthena, where he spent four years leading the company’s Partner Success team. As a member of the Edthena team, Rob helped teachers, professors, and instructional coaches across the county to utilize video and video-coaching for classroom instructional improvement.
He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Loyola Marymount University and his MBA from Arizona State University. He enjoys running and hiking all throughout the outdoors, and has even survived a few marathons! However, as of 2022, most of his free time is spent with his new baby girl.
