Shelby is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) passionate about enhancing the educational experience for all students.
Born and raised on the North Shore of O'ahu, Shelby’s early schooling was informed by a deep connection to nature and an understanding of the importance of community. This fostered a lifelong appreciation for experiential learning that she brought to her career working in California public schools.
Before joining Wayfinder, Shelby served as a School Psychologist in primary and secondary settings within Los Angeles Unified School District, providing direct psychological services and supporting the design and implementation of school-wide social-emotional learning initiatives. She has a long history of working with students with significant emotional and behavioral challenges and has oriented her work around promoting adaptability, community engagement, and prosocial behavior.
Shelby received her master's in Educational Psychology and Education Specialist degree in School Psychology from Loyola Marymount University, LA. She has eagerly applied her knowledge and experience to support struggling learners and remove barriers to success.
When she’s not discussing ways to develop and empower students holistically, you can find her surfing at the nearest beach or nose-deep in a novel.
