“Our first year using Wayfinder, our students were going through different things, including loss in their families and simultaneously they were trying to figure out what was next. It’s pretty heavy stuff. When we used Wayfinder, I saw incredible breakthrough moments. They shared their perspectives and were able connected in a really powerful way.”

Training
Uplift trained their pilot teachers at the 2019 Wayfinder Institute. In 2021, they participate in a network-wide training for district rollout.
Timeline
As a result of positive student feedback, Wayfinder will be used network-wide for 11th and 12th graders.
How it's implemented
Used a combination of both physical and digital purpose toolkits.
In 2021, Wayfinder will be used network wide by 1,000+ 11th graders and 1,000+ 12th graders at all 13 schools.
Uplift Juniors were highly engaged.
~ Students gained a deeper understanding of their differences but also identified their commonalities.
~ Students became more confident talking about their perspectives and lives.
Uplift teachers found Wayfinder easy to implement and have been pleased with the positive impact it's had on students.

“The teacher toolkit, slides for teachers, and scripts gave me confidence in the classroom to share the material. Seeing the research in the teacher toolkit really helped. It makes you feel like it will work for you.”
